Toronto police have arrested a man who is accused of following a 13-year-old girl on her way home in the city’s east end on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the Upper Beach neighbourhood, near Swanwick Avenue and Hannaford Street, south of Gerrard Street East.

Police said the girl was walking home when she was allegedly blocked by an unknown man on the sidewalk.

The girl passed him, but he allegedly continued to follow her, prompting her to flee and call the police for help.

In an update on Thursday, police announced the arrest of 30-year-old Daniel Frayne.

They said he was arrested on April 8 and charged with harassment by watching and besetting.

Investigators continue to urge anyone with further information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
