A woman was left with “very serious injuries” after being hit by a vehicle on a motorway near Leeds, police have said.
The car is reported to have struck the woman on the clockwise carriageway of the M621 near Holbeck at about 04:50 BST, according to West Yorkshire Police.
The incident “remains ongoing”, they said, with a full closure in place in both directions on the three-mile (4.8km) stretch between junction one of the M621 and junction 27 of the M62.
Polcice urged drivers were urged to avoid the M621 motorway, which they said was expected to remain closed “for some time”.
