On March 10, more than 50 community members gathered in celebration of Kathe Turel ahead of her retirement, recognizing her 18 years of service as a registered representative with Israel Bonds.
Held at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, tributes were delivered by Thomas Lockshin, executive director of Israel Bonds for Ohio and Kentucky, and Michael Broidy, on behalf of Jay Schottenstein, Central Ohio chair of the campaign advisory council, according to a news release. In a letter shared at the event, Stuart Garawitz, vice president of national sales, reflected on Turiel’s work over the last 18 years.
“For nearly two decades, Kathe has been the face of Israel Bonds in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Lexington and Louisville,” he wrote. “She brought not only deep expertise to her work, but also genuine care for the people she served and a profound love of Israel.”
Garawitz also noted the scope of Turiel’s achievements, including the sale of several hundreds of millions of dollars in Israel bonds during her tenure.
“At the heart of her work is a deep belief in the mission of Israel Bonds,” he wrote.
Lockshin also spoke of Israel Bonds’ continued commitment to the region, and said the search for a new registered representative has already begun. In the interim, the Cleveland and New York-based teams will provide support, the release said.
