Crystal Palace have tabled an offer to Andoni Iraola just 24 hours after he announced he will leave Bournemouth once the season comes to an end.
The Spaniard has chosen not to extend his contract, which will bring an end to his three-year stay at the Vitality Stadium. Iraola has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, but they themselves are unsure what they’re doing with their managerial situation.
As a result the Eagles have come to the negotiating table as they know Oliver Glasner will also be departing this summer. Marca claims that they put a multi-million pound offer to Iraola and promised him to invest annually in their squad. The Bournemouth boss is understood to be considering the role.
Twelve months ago Palace were on their way to winning the FA Cup, before then winning the Community Shield months later. They’ve since seen some of their leading lights leave with the likes of Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi heading to pastures new.
Iraola will not be short of offers. If those at Old Trafford opt against giving Michael Carrick the job full-time then the Spaniard is likely to be among those high on their shortlist. Clubs back in his homeland, the likes of Athletic Bilbao, are also keen.

Iraola finished 12th in his first season with Bournemouth and then last season led the Cherries to ninth – the joint best finish in their history. He’s presided over some impressive wins, which saw them win at Old Trafford in successive seasons. He’s also masterminded back-to-back wins at Arsenal.
Bournemouth are in the midst of a 12th match unbeaten run and sit 11th. Their form has put them in contention for a European spot, sitting just three points behind Chelsea in sixth, which would be good enough for a place in next season’s Europa League.

Iraola claimed that, after his three year spell, it felt like the right moment to step away. He said: “It has been an honour to manage AFC Bournemouth and I am proud of what we have achieved together. I’m thankful to the players and staff that I’ve worked with, as well as Bill, who have all made my time here so special.
“As for the fans, you have continued to show your fantastic support to myself and the team, and for that I will always be grateful. I feel this is the right moment for me to step away, but I will always carry fantastic memories of this club.”
