WrestleMania 42’s second night was a big night, but the first night had a few people thinking critically about advertisements. ESPN didn’t do WWE any favors when it came to how many ads they put into the show.

Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that the reception from an in-ring perspective for night one was not strong from those the outlet spoke to. The sentiment echoed “that of the constant ads causing ring time to go down.”

WrestleMania has a lot of eyes on it, and it is a prime sport for advertising. That beign said, some people within the company think that they went a bit overboard this year.

There was a time when Vince McMahon didn’t sell that many ads during WrestleMania. Now, every piece of the set is up for a sponsorship with TKO’s leadership.

We will have to see if ESPN tones down the advertisements. They packed every Disney second into WrestleMania that they could on the ESPN Unlimited app with a ton of persistence. Only time will tell what happens as the partnership continues.
