Shocking CCTV footage captured the moment a man was stabbed at a Bolton café in the second of two random attacks within minutes.
A customer was attacked at The Deli on Tonge Moor Road on Tuesday (April 21). A video clip published on social media shows a man walking in holding a knife. The Manchester Evening News has taken the decision not to show the moving footage.
The man holding a knife is seen lunging at a customer sitting at a table. Screaming is heard from staff. The victim gets up and begins punching his attacker and disarming him.

The man with the blade is later seen standing calmly, before sitting down. It is understood the incident was the second of two knife attacks within minutes, with police believed to be linking the reports.
It is understood a man left a property with a knife before someone was stabbed along Tonge Moor Road. That he victim’s wound was superficial.

Shortly after, a man walked into The Deli and attacked the customer seen in the footage. That man’s injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
He is said to have been wearing a gilet, sweatshirt and t-shirt which may have prevented more serious injury. Neither victim is said to have known their attacker.
A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of assault, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed on Wednesday (April 22).
The incidents are being treated as linked and as mental health-related. In a Facebook statement, bosses at The Deli said: “Dear customers.
“Regarding the incident that took place this morning on Tonge Moor Rd. This incident has followed down and spilled into our premises.

“We would like to assure you all, our customers and staff are safe and helping GMP with their investigation. We would also like to thank our customer today who helped during the incident, keeping us safe. Of course he will receive free orders for life.
“Due to the disruption we have closed for the remainder of the day and will let you all know when we are back open for business. We wholeheartedly apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for understanding and we will see you all very soon! – Team Deli.”
Several police cars were seen parked on Tonge Moor Road afterwards with officers making house-to-house enquiries. The force confirmed officers. located two men with stab wounds. They were treated at the scene.
The force earlier said: “At around 10.30am we were called to reports of a stabbing on Tonge Moor Road, Bolton. Emergency services attended and two men were treated by medical professionals on site for stab wounds.
“A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing.”
