St.Helens First Team 21-man squad announcements are sponsored by R Whitle Ltd.
It’s a double header at the BrewDog Stadium on Saturday, with our Women’s and First Team both in action!
St.Helens Women vs Barrow Raiders Ladies – 2:30pm kick-off – Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup – Quarter-Final
St.Helens vs Wakefield Trinity – 5:30pm kick-off – Betfred Super League – Round 9
Both sides have had strong starts to the 2026 campaign, with Wakefield currently sitting second in the league table and Saints in third, separated only by points difference.
The Red V enter the contest in confident after a hard-fought 24-14 victory away at Hull FC last Thursday night. A determined performance at the MKM Stadium extended their winning streak to three matches across all competitions, in what was an emotionally charged environment surrounding their then Head Coach’s future.
Wakefield are in impressive league form, having won their last five Super League fixtures, most recently bouncing back from being edged out of the Challenge Cup against Wigan by claiming a commanding 52-12 victory over Bradford Bulls at the DIY Kitchens Stadium.
With both teams in good form and looking to cement their place in the upper reaches of the league table, all the ingredients are there for a fierce contest.

 SQUAD NEWS
Coach Rowley makes two changes to the squad he named that defeated Hull FC on the road last time out.
Back-rower Shane Wright is back available after missing the last two matches, having picked up a HIA and a ‘bump’ in our Good Friday win over Wigan. Having now followed return-to-play protocols, the Saints’ #12 can feature once again this Saturday evening.
Centre Nene Macdonald is also named in the 21-man team, having missed our last six fixtures due to a knee injury which required surgery.
Deon Cross, who failed a Head Injury Assessment in Round 8’s victory over Hull FC, steps out of the squad selection, as does youngster Cole Marsh.
Our latest debutant, Tom Humphreys, retains his spot in the 21 after making his maiden appearance last week. Should Billy Keeley be selected to feature on Saturday, he would make his official St.Helens and Super League debut and then be assigned his senior squad number.
