Stoke City key man Viktor Johansson makes his first appearance since a shoulder fracture in December

Viktor Johansson has come through 90 minutes of action in his first appearance in four months.
The 27-year-old guest starred for Stoke City under-21s at the bet365 Stadium in a Professional Development League play-off against Peterborough United.
He made some typically eye-catching saves in a tight game that was 1-1 until the last couple of minutes, when the visitors managed to score two late goals to reach the last eight of an inter-league competition. Josh Maskall scored for Stoke while a trialist, Eddie Fox and Patryk Sykut scored for Posh.
There is only one game left of the Championship season remaining now for Johansson this term, away at Bristol City on Saturday (12.30pm) but he does have the small matter of a World Cup with Sweden to follow.

Johansson had played in every league game for Stoke after joining from Rotherham in 2024 until he suffered a fractured shoulder against Sheffield United in late December.
He said recently: “It’s been hard but you can take positive things out of it. You see football different. You can see games from the sides and from high up you see different spaces, different outlets and you can take time to see the positive things you can gain from it. That’s what I’m trying to do now.”
