Mateusz Prokopiuk
A Portadown company has offered a touching homage to one of their team members after the man died in a road traffic collision on Saturday.
Mateusz Prokopiuk, 31, was one of two men who lost their lives in the incident which involved a motorbike and a car at Glenavy Road, Upper Ballinderry. The other man killed was 41-year-old Malek Kerbache.
Mateusz’s employer Bann Hire and Sales left a poignant tribute on their Facebook page.

“Mateusz was far more than just a member of our team, he was a lovable character who brought an unmistakable energy to the workplace every single day. Whether it was his quick wit, his ready smile, or his genuine kindness, he had a unique way of making the toughest days feel lighter.
“He wasn’t just a co-worker—he was a true friend to everyone he met.
“Bann Hire and Sales feels quieter without his presence, and his loss leaves a void that will be impossible to fill. We will remember him not for the tragedy of his passing, but for the warmth, laughter, and friendship he gave us so freely.
“Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with Mateusz’s family and his many friends during this unimaginably painful time. Rest in peace, Mateusz. You will be missed more than words can say.”
