Moyes tells Giulia of the BBC that he wants to raise aspirations here. He thinks the players have “done a brilliant job” backing up his words. “I want us to be better and to finish as high as we can.”
On MNF – Moyes says we need the TV companies’ money, ultimately, and if you get into Europe you can mitigate it. He says he feels sorry for supporters and particularly younger fans and the impact it has on their ability to get to games.
Again on the summer – how much do you credit the players who came last season? Moyes says there are a lot of good players in the building and there were when he arrived, which they showed at the end of the last season. He says it is about Everton building bit by bit, the club isn’t going to change the landscape by spending £200/300m.
On Beto, Moyes says he is always looking to improve and is happy to take on extra work, which is great for him.
“Everything is as we are” he says on team news. A few niggles so will have to see where they are on Monday night.
That is it for the open section of the press conference
