We met this week in the yard of the deserted horseback-riding club owned by the brother-in-law of the dead woman, located across from her home. Until a year ago there were 17 horses here, but the Israeli army’s frequent incursions spooked the animals and the owner of the club had to sell them. A lone, friendly watchdog remains in the empty, well-guarded stables.
