Police say that Coventry City FC’s promotion parade and We Are Back Live event was a ‘day to remember’.
Officers on foot, in cars, on horses and even in the skies kept watch over the historic celebrations across the city.
West Midlands Police said that there was just one arrest on the day – a 20-year-old man, who has not been identified, on suspicion of assault. He was taken into custody for questioning and then released on bail.

That was the only incident that led to an arrest, and police said that they were delighted that the event, which put the city on the global map, passed safely.

In a statement, the force said: “Our officers joined Sky Blues supporters as they celebrated their long-awaited return to the Premier League during a team bus procession through the streets of the city.
“We had an increased police presence in the area to help the event go ahead safely.
“A number of our policing teams took part in the event, including officers from Operations, Dog Unit, Drones Team and neighbourhood officers.
“Horses from our Mounted Unit also took part in the celebrations. They are always a popular attraction, and as well as playing a key role in operations, they play a brilliant part in engagement with our communities as well.
“We’re delighted everyone had a day to remember and kept safe.”
