Bournemouth have suspended defender Alex Jimenez ahead of their clash with Fulham amid an ongoing investigation. The Premier League club are looking into a posts regarding Jimenez, who turned 21 on Friday, circulating on social media.
A statement read: “AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez. The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.
“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”
Jimenez initially joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan in September 2025 before his move was made permanent for £16.5million earlier this year. The Spaniard signed a contract which runs until 2031.
With 32 appearances to his name, Jimenez was expected to feature at Craven Cottage prior to the allegations emerging on Friday morning. But now the former Real Madrid academy player will not be involved due to the investigation.

Born in Leganes, Spain, Jimenez played for both Talavera CF and UD Talavera before moving to Madrid. He’s represented Spain at under-15, U17, 19 and U21 level.
After joining Milan on loan in July 2023, the Italian giants activated their £4.3m option to buy Jimenez later than season. He made 23 first-team appearances at San Siro.
Jimenez has scored one goal for Bournemouth, coming in their 3-2 win at home to Liverpool in January. He’s helped Andoni Iraola’s team rise to sixth in the table with three games to go.
Should they finish in the top six, Bournemouth could qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the club’s 127-year history. That is because Aston Villa, who are currently fifth, have reached the final of the Europa League.
