Israel to Sue New York Times Over Column Alleging Widespread Sexual Abuse of Palestinians by Israeli Prison Guards, Soldiers and Settlers

Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office said on Thursday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar had ordered the launch of a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times following the publication of a column by journalist Nicholas Kristof that it described as “one of the most hideous and distorted lies ever published against the State of Israel in the modern press.”
