A teenager was shot and seriously injured late Sunday night in Montreal’s St-Laurent borough, police say.
The 17-year-old boy was struck by gunshots to his lower body, Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils said, but his life is not considered in danger.
Several people called 911 around 11:15 p.m. Sunday to report hearing gunshots, Chèvrefils said. Police found the teenager seriously injured but conscious on Bourgoin St. near Hufford St., she said.
Police believe “the victim was on the sidewalk when one or more suspects opened fire on him,” Chèvrefils said. The alleged shooter or shooters fled the scene before police arrived, she said.
Police are investigating the incident, but have made no arrests.
