Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom ended their relationship on amicable terms, but that may not last much longer.
A source told OK! UK that Perry feels “humiliated” after Bloom shaded her new romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Perry and Trudeau were first seen on a date at the restaurant Le Violon in Montreal, Canada in July 2025. Days later, Bloom seemed to shade Perry by commenting on an AI-generated photo of him and Angela Merkel at a candle-lit dinner table with the fake caption of an “insider” claiming “Angela kept Orlando laughing all night – he couldn’t keep his eyes off her.” Orlando responded to the post with a comment of clapping emojis. However, Perry apparently didn’t find the post funny.

“Katy feels very let down and humiliated by Orlando, but she’s also realising that he wasn’t the right person for her. He’s showing his true colours and it’s really very hurtful and spiteful to her, especially as it probably means the end of any possible friendship with him in future,” the insider said. “She hoped they’d both be mature after the break-up so she’s feeling really disappointed.”

Perry and Bloom announced their split after nine years together in June 2025. The couple share one child, a 4-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom. “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry ’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement read. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
As for Perry and Trudeau, a source confirmed to Us Weekly in August 2025 that their dinner was “definitely a date.” “It was casual,” the source said. “They had been in touch for the last month and have a few mutuals in the music industry.”
The insider continued, This is all new to her as she hasn’t dated in so many years and it’s been exciting to put herself out there again.”
Despite their connection, the source maintained that Perry “doesn’t have a lot of extra time right now,” and while she’s “excited to move on” from Bloom, she “isn’t looking for anything serious.”
However, not everyone is happy to see Trudeau in Perry’s life. A source told The Sun in July 2025 that Perry fears for Trudeau’s “womanizer reputation.” “Katy’s friends want her to have fun after her split from Orlando, but she’s still very much grieving the end of their relationship and the fact that she never made it down the aisle,” the source said. “They don’t want her to rush into something serious, and have heard Justin has a bit of a reputation as a womanizer, and that he loves the fame game.”
The insider continued, “It is still a very new flirty friendship, but friends are hoping she takes it slow with the next person and chooses a man who loves her for her.”
A second source also supported the claims that Trudeau likes to date. “They have been wanting to have dinner for a while now, and he asked her if they could do it in Montreal, and she agreed to do so very quickly,” the insider said. “He isn’t shy about his romantic life, and he took her on a date, and he was very, very excited to do so, and kept talking about it in the last few days. Justin isn’t a guy who is easy to ‘catch’ and he has been having a lot of women trying to date him since he separated from his wife. He is someone that has some particular preferences, and he enjoys people who are genuinely nice and that see life in their own way.”
The source continued, “Katy has her own ‘world’ and she is someone who is an extrovert, and she loves to talk about many different topics, and he really loves that.” The inside also added that Trudeau is “not scared of her being a superstar.”
