Number One pick Ash Centra will make her AFLW debut on Thursday night when the Pies open the 2025 season against Carlton.

Arriving at the Club in December last year following the draft, Centra has worked hard throughout pre-season to get her chance at the first possible opportunity.

Being the Club’s first female number one pick and only second overall all after Josh Fraser was taken in 1999, Centra’s junior career saw her arrive with much hype.

Dominating for both Vic Metro and the Gippsland Power, having grown up in Seaspray in the state’s east, Centra’s ball-winning abilities and footy smart stood out.

Before even playing a game, Centra showed her faith in the Club by signing a contract extension earlier in the year to keep her at the Club until at least 2027.

Thursday’s Round 1 clash at IKON Park will be the first of 12 games the Pies play in 2025 in what is the longest AFLW season to date.

Tickets to all AFLW matches are $15 and are available online through Ticketmaster or at the gate. Under 18s can also redeem a FREE ticket through Ticketmaster for all games.
