An “incredible” 21-year-old who died following a collision with an emergency vehicle while riding an e-scooter has been named.
Tommy Jarvis was taken to hospital in a critical condition after the crash in Princes Road, Dartford, at around 10.45pm on Monday (May 25) at the junction with Darenth Road.

His close friend Lily May Lee has paid tribute to “the friend who could lift your spirits no matter what” following his death.
A fundraiser has been started to pay for funeral costs and details the role the youngster played in the lives of those closest to him. Donations can be made here.
“Anyone who knew Tommy knows just how special he was,” she said.
“He was the biggest smile in every room, the loudest laugh, the friend who could lift your spirits no matter what kind of day you were having.
“He was kind, caring, loyal, and loved by so many. There will never, ever be another Tommy like him.

“He was so young with so much life still ahead of him. His loss has left an unfillable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone lucky enough to have known him.
“Our lives changed forever that day, and we are now trying to navigate a loss that no family should ever have to endure.”
Tommy, a former Dartford Science and Technology College student, was travelling home from his job as a chef at Miller & Carter in Princes Road on an e-scooter when the collision happened.
The fire service says the fire engine was “travelling to a reported emergency”.
Police and paramedics attended the scene, and he was transported to a London hospital in a serious condition.
The fire service’s chief executive Ann Millington, said: “Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident.

“There is a legal process to follow, and we are fully committed to supporting Kent Police’s investigation, as well as conducting our own internal investigation.”
The fundraiser is hoping to raise £5,000 to pay for a church service for Tommy, who turned 21 in April.
Lily continued: “The funds raised will go towards the costs of Tommy’s funeral and celebration of life, and all the other expenses that come with arranging a meaningful farewell for someone so deeply loved.
“Losing someone is heartbreaking enough without the added worry of financial pressures.
“No family should have to carry the burden of funeral costs whilst trying to process such a devastating loss.

“We hope this fundraiser can ease some of that weight and allow us as Tommy’s friends and family to focus on remembering and celebrating the incredible person he was.”
