There is widespread shock in Killarney following the news that a man has died in a drowning accident on the River Flesk.
The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the man, aged in his 20’s, got into difficult in the water. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services attended the scene and the man was removed from the water. Investigations are continuing into the exact circumstances of the shocking accident.
In a statement gardaà said they were alerted to an incident where a male (aged in his 20’s) encountered difficult in the water at Killarney on Tuesday, August 12, at approximately 3.30pm.
