In September 2024, I argued that Israel should have accepted that ending the escalation with Hezbollah meant reaching a cease-fire in Gaza – because the fronts were linked, like it or not. Israel’s government did the opposite – attacked Hezbollah hard and then reached a cease-fire, while the Gaza war raged for another year. Israeli hostages, and tens of thousands more Palestinians died.
