Shock and heartbreak has rippled through communities around the country after a young mother was found dead in Limerick City.

25-year-old Clodagh Ferguson was found dead after gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a medical emergency at a premises in the Steamboat Quay area of Limerick city on Wednesday July 16 at around 10 pm.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out and her body was removed from the scene. A post-mortem examination has been arranged, the result of which will determine the course of the investigation.

Hundreds of tributes have poured in from people on social media who are shocked and devastated by the tragic news.

One person said: “Oh Clodagh where do I even start? We had our ups and downs and everyone knows that I’m in shock I cannot believe that your gone my heart is broke you had your whole life ahead of you thinking of your mother and your baby boy who absolutely adored his beautiful mammy. The memories that we have I could right a book one of a kind you were and I’ll cherish them in my heart forever if anyone knew what we got up to and the laughs we had, but we understood each other. Rest easy my beautiful crazy friend until we meet again I’ll never forget you I love you forever and a day Clodagh see you when I get there baby girl”.

“God help her beautiful little boy must be heartbroken,” another person said.

Someone else said, “Such a beautiful girl inside and out. Rest in peace Clodagh”.
