The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has begun to issue advisories for Potential Tropical Cyclone One (PTC One).\PTC One will drift off the southern Texas coastline through the evening, and drift into the warm western Gulf. As the tropical low lingers over the western Gulf, it will likely strengthen into a Tropical storms as sustained winds strengthen up to 40 mph. Tropical Storm Arthur would be the first named storm of the season, and is expected to make landfall Wednesday evening along the Louisiana-Texas border before moving inland through Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Louisiana impacts: A Flood Watch is in effect for all of the Northshore, River Parishes, portions of the Bayou Parishes, and the metro through 7 a.m. Friday. WHAT DOES A FLOOD WATCH MEAN?:A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flooding to occur. Use the time now to prepare for flooding if you live in a flood prone area.
