Corrr, this game has some needle in it. Both benches were animated throughout the first half, and as soon as the whistle went, tensions boiled over with both teams getting involved in a huge bust-up.
The Paraguay assistant coach has already been booked for overstepping the mark with his protests and there’s sure to be plenty more bookings – and probably reds – if this first half is anything to go by.
The ugly scenes at the end of the first half didn’t last long as sanity prevailed, with both benches lucky to avoid any punishments. But with plenty at stake – the loser will be eliminated – this game has some spice in it and emotions are running high… make that very high.
