One man has been arrested after a woman died following a shooting inside an apartment near Dundas and Jarvis streets.
A woman has died and a man is under arrest following a shooting in downtown Toronto on Saturday morning, police say.
The incident happened in the city’s Garden District neighbourhood, near Jarvis Street and Dundas Street East.
Police say they were called to that area at around 9:30 a.m. for a shooting inside an apartment unit.
There, officers found a female victim who had been shot.
Initially, paramedics said they transported a female victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police later confirmed that she has died.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown at this time.
