City police say officers were called to residence early Saturday morning to conduct a wellness check
A man and a woman were found dead inside a Barrie home this morning following a wellness check.
Barrie police say officers were called around 9 a.m. to a residence, located at 4 Peregrine Rd., in the area of St. Vincent Street and Osprey Ridge Road, in the city’s north end.
“The victims are believed to be known to each other and the incident appears isolated,” police stated in a release on Saturday.
There will be a police presence in the area while officers investigate.
Neighbours in the area declined to speak, but did say the couple who lived in the home were very private.
The home was cordoned off by yellow crime-scene tape, as was a black vehicle parked on the road.
A forensics van was set up in front of the home, where a detective and several officers were on scene.
A police car was also parked in the backyard, which was unfenced and also include crime-scene tape.
