A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 72-year-old woman in Derbyshire.
Police were called to reports that a woman had been found with stab wounds at a property in The Crest, Linton, Swadlincote, at just after 2.30pm on Sunday, June 21.
A 72-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Derbyshire Constabulary are appealing to the public to come forward with any relevant information, CCTV, Ring Doorbell or dash cam footage which covers The Crest between 12.01am on Saturday, June 20, and 3pm on Sunday, June 21.

Detective Inspector Tony Owen, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), who is leading the investigation, said: “Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area whilst we carry out our enquiries.
“We are aware that this may cause some concern in the community but I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident.
“If you have any concerns or would like to pass on any information, please feel free to approach officers.”
