‘Happy Days’ Star, 75, Gives Health Update After Surgery: ‘Yesterday Was Painful’ originally appeared on Parade.

Actor Anson Williams, 75, known for his role as Potsie Weber on the hit sitcom Happy Days, is sharing a health update following his August 12 hernia surgery.

Remind Magazine reported that Williams shared information about his recovery in an August 13 Facebook post. The post featured a picture of him jokingly embracing his friend and Happy Days co-star, Don Most.

“Well, yesterday was painful. I was medicated which was nice. I was having some interesting dreams as you can see,” read the caption of the post. “Tomorrow will be better but no housekeeping for a few days. Seriously though, my doctor and the team at the hospital are the best. The staff at Providence Hospital, I am so thankful for them. Dr. Faires…I am just very lucky.”

The actor also thanked his fans for their support.

Several commenters showered Williams with well-wishes in the comments section.

“Wishing you a fast recovery Anson! All the best,” wrote a commenter.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery!” added another.

“You got this. And thank you for the info I will be going for the same surgery. Not looking forward to do it. Please Keep posting of how you are doing,” shared a different person.

“All best wishes for a speedy recovery!” chimed in a fourth person.

Williams and Most, who played Ralph Malph on Happy Days, discussed their time on the show, which ran for 11 seasons until 1984, in a joint 2019 interview with Studio 10. Williams shared that he and Most both auditioned for the role of Potsie. He said while Williams wasn’t cast as Potsie, he impressed producers so much that the character of Ralph was created just for him.

“It’s nothing to do with talent for the role of Potsie. It just has to do with combinations of people. But they were so impressed with Don, no one ever audition for Ralph. He created it because they admired him so much,” said Williams during the interview.
