Foo Fighters invite fan dressed as Mentos on stage

Foo Fighters brought a man on stage after noticing his unique costume before quickly shooing him away after he had his moment to shine. Foo Fighters have taken to the Anfield Stadium stage this evening (June 27) for the final night of two huge shows. The band made their debut at the home of the Reds on Thursday, June 25 to a sell-out crowd.

One lucky fan had the honour of being brought on stage thanks to his larger than life costume. The band’s attention was drawn to one fan in particular who was dressed up as a a roll of Mentos sweets.

Frontman Dave Grohl said: “When s*** like this happens, that means this is the night of our lives, so thank you.” The man recorded his time on stage while dancing with the band.

The fan was given the opportunity to sing to the audience, and he embraced it confidently, belting out verses to the packed stadium.

After earning a round of applause, Dave quickly told him to head back into the crowd. He jokingly said: “Get the f*** off my stage.”

Foo Fighters are expected to play all of the biggest tracks of their career including the ‘Pretender’, ‘Best Of You’, ‘Everlong’ and ‘Walk’.

The run of shows is the first time the band have performed at the home of Liverpool FC. However, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has previously joined Sir Paul McCartney on stage at Anfield Stadium in 2008, during the celebration of Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture. They performed versions of Band On The Run and Back In The USSR.

The band was formed by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl after Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994. Initially conceived as a solo recording project, Foo Fighters soon became a full band when Dave brought in additional musicians ahead of their first live performances in 1995.
