FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — A new wildfire has prompted evacuations Saturday in northern Arizona.
Coconino County Emergency Management said around 2:30 p.m. that a fire started in the Parks-Pumpkin Center off Spring Valley Road.
Due to the fire, which is now named the Spring Valley Fire, officials issued a “GO” evacuation order for all visitors and residents in or around Kendrick Mountain, just northwest of Flagstaff.
The fire is estimated at 112 acres. Kaibab National Forest officials said they are assisting, and the wildfire is burning on private lands.
Residents and visitors who want to receive emergency alerts can sign up from the Coconino County website.
