They first met on a blind date. Daryl Berman had been married before, but this time she had found her true match.
The daughter of a textile merchant and a housewife, Daryl was born in Manchester in June 1954. Her first marriage lasted around five years.
Her second would last much longer. David and Daryl Berman’s 28th wedding anniversary would have been reached last November.
They didn’t celebrate that milestone, because David, 84, was dead. And Daryl, then 71, was about to go on trial accused of murdering him.
