John Cornyn, Republican of Texas, said he had yet to decide how he’d vote on Blanche’s nomination in the committee, telling reporters at the Capitol that “I don’t have to make a decision now, so I’m not.”
Cornyn reiterated that he had questions about the weaponization fund and the IRS settlement. But he said that he thought Blanche “did a pretty good job” at the hearing.
“I said I admire his service and I do,” he said. “But it’s a very difficult position to be in, as I also said, to be the president’s personal lawyer, and then to end up being a member of the cabinet.”
