A teenager has been charged with dangerous driving after hitting the gas at the sight of RNC officers.
Police were called to the Smithville Crescent area of St. John’s just before 9:30 after a girl reported that she was being followed by her ex-boyfriend.
Officers tracked down the vehicle in question, which took off at a high rate of speed.
Police went to his house where they arrested the 16-year-old for dangerous driving, flight from police, uttering threats and breach of undertaking.
He was held for court.
