The Asheville Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two dead and multiple injured.Officers say authorities were called to the area of Biltmore Avenue for a deadly shooting at approximately 2:20 a.m. early Sunday morning.Upon arrival, officers say they found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.Despite life-saving efforts from first responders, Asheville Police confirmed two people were pronounced dead at the scene.Seven additional victims were transported to a local hospital, but there has been no update on their condition.Investigators say they have contained a large crime scene and collected evidence, including several shell casings.Currently, officers believe the shooting may have been the result of a previous gun violence incident.
