FDA reports false positive of cyclospora in test of Taylor Farms lettuce
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has reversed part of its investigation into a multi-state cyclospora outbreak tied to shredded iceberg lettuce.
The agency says the sample from Taylor Farms of Mexico produced a false positive. The FDA says it made the discovery after re-reviewing the results over the weekend.

According to the agency, no products have tested positive for cyclosporiasis as of now.
The false positive does not change Taylor Farms’ earlier voluntary recall, which included Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
According to the latest data from Hamilton County health officials, 17 cases have been reported in the county, with the number of confirmed cases at 12.
40 hospitalizations have been reported across the state. No deaths from cyclosporiasis have been reported in the U.S.
The company produces lettuce for Taco Bell and several grocery retailers, including Kroger.
The FDA says Taylor Farms is making sure the product that was initially implicated in the outbreak is removed from the market.
Taylor Farms says the FDA has apologized.
