Police say the teen’s family has been made aware

Human remains found in the River Taw on June 24 have been confirmed to be those of teenager Taylor Charlton from North Devon.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the remains belong to Taylor in an update today (Friday, July 31) adding his family has been made aware of the development.
Taylor’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers at this time, Devon and Cornwall Police confirm.
Taylor, who was 14 at the time of his disappearance, was last seen in Barnstaple on Friday, May 8.
A large-scale search and investigation was launched after he was reported as missing, and the community and emergency services worked tirelessly to find him.
The police force said there is an ongoing investigation into the circumstances of Taylor’s death, adding detectives will “continue to establish the full facts”.
Two people arrested in connection to the investigation remain on police bail as enquiries continue.
The force said: “We continue to ask members of the public to help our investigation by avoiding speculation and by not sharing any unconfirmed information online.
