Hundreds of thousands of Central Florida students are preparing to begin a new school year on Monday.
From Seminole to Brevard and Osceola to Volusia, buses are gearing up to start their routes as families get ready for the first day of class.

First day of school in Seminole County
More than 55,000 students in Seminole County returned to school today, walking, biking, or taking the bus to class as they kicked off the new academic year.
Midway Elementary also celebrated becoming a community school. The school district has partnered with United Way, Seminole State College, and the nonprofit True Health to provide services such as social support, health care, and tutoring to students.
At Crooms Academy, Seminole County school officials rang the bell to commemorate the school’s 100th anniversary. Founded in 1926 as a school for African American students, Crooms Academy is now the county’s only dedicated magnet high school.
First day of school in Volusia County
Thousands of students in Volusia County returned to the classroom on Monday, marking the first of 180 days of learning.
At Westside Elementary School in Daytona Beach, students were greeted with cheers and smiles as they walked through the gates for the first day of school.

Students across Brevard County returned to the classroom on Monday, with preparations starting early to ensure a successful first day.
At the bus depot in Viera, 25 bus drivers conducted pre-inspection checks before picking up students.
Parents and students expressed positive sentiments about the first day, with everything appearing to go smoothly.
