CHICAGO (WLS) — The Chicago area is under an AccuWeather Alert as more storms with powerful winds are in the forecast Tuesday.

There is a Tornado Warning for LaPorte County until noon.

There is a Tornado Warning for Lake and Porter counties in Indiana until 11:45 a.m.

There is a Tornado Warning for Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall and Will counties until 11:30 a.m.

Around 10:45 a.m., Chicago office workers were urged to take shelter.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the Chicago area until 2 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for LaPorte County until 5 p.m.

There is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Jasper, Newton and Benton counties until 12:15 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Porter County until noon.

There is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kankakee and Will counties in Illinois and Lake and Newton counties in Indiana until 11:45 a.m.

There is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cook, DuPage, Kane and Kendall counties in Illinois and for LaPorte County in Indiana until 11:15 a.m.

There is a Flash Flood Warning for LaPorte County until 2 p.m.

There is a Flood Advisory for Jasper and Porter counties until 1 p.m.

There is a Flood Advisory for Cook, DuPage, Kankakee and Will counties until 1:30 p.m.

There is a Flood Advisory for DeKalb and LaSalle counties until 1:30 p.m. and for Grundy, Kane and Kendall counties until 2 p.m.

There is a Flood Watch for LaPorte County until 8 p.m.

There is a Ground Stop at Midway and O’Hare airports until about 11:30 a.m.

At around 11 a.m., there were about 200 flight canceled at O’Hare.

There are delays of about an hour at both airports.

Most of the Chicago area is under a Level 3 risk for severe weather Tuesday.

ABC7 Chicago meteorologists said the timeframe for storms is between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The National Weather Service said the main threat will be destructive wind gusts that could reach up to 80 miles per hour.

As for the White Sox game, meteorologists say it should be welcomed with quiet weather conditions.
