Human remains found at Palomar Mountain State Park Wednesday night are not believed to be of the missing woman Angelica Brophy, Oceanside police confirmed.
The discovery was reported at around 7:30 p.m. off South Grade Road, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Hernandez told NBC 7. Since the remains were found when it was dark, detectives could not really determine the extent of the injuries. It was also unclear if the remains were of a woman or a man.
This is the same state park where Angelica Brophy, the missing nurse from Oceanside, was last seen. Oceanside Police later confirmed that the remains were not believed to be of Brophy.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
