Lionel Messi was unstoppable during Inter Miami’s 7-1 victory over CF Montréal on Saturday.
Messi finished with four goals in the lopsided win.
The 39-year-old’s first goal came on a deflected free kick in the 40th minute that gave Miami a 2-0 lead.
Messi found the back of the net once again in the 52nd minute, navigating through multiple defenders before finishing with his right foot.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner eventually completed his hat trick with a chip over Montréal goalkeeper Thomas Gillier following a slick feed from Rodrigo De Paul.
Messi capped off the night with a free kick in stoppage time that brought his total to four goals.
Miami’s overall performance against Montréal was impressive, holding 57 percent of possession and finishing with 11 shots on goal.
Messi now has 18 goals for Miami this year, leading all MLS players during the 2026 season.
Saturday also marked the eighth occasion in which Messi has scored four or more goals in a single match and his first since he played for Barcelona in 2020 (h/t ESPN).
The victory also represented Miami’s first win since Aug. 5.
