In an industry where silence or denial often surrounds cosmetic enhancements, Khushi Kapoor is refreshingly upfront. The young actor, still new to Bollywood but already making headlines for her candour, has spoken out about her personal experiences and views on cosmetic treatments and her take is both honest and mature.

In a recent interview with TOI, Khushi opened up about undergoing cosmetic procedures and emphasised that the decision should rest entirely with the person.

“If someone wishes to get work done, it is their choice, and they should do what suits them,” she said, acknowledging that expectations from the industry and fans can create pressure, but what matters most is personal comfort.

She shared that she has always been open about changes to her appearance and doesn’t believe in hiding it.

“I have always tried to be honest and open about whatever I am getting done,” she said, adding that transparency is important, especially for celebrities with young fans.

Unrealistic standards come from secrecy

For Khushi, the real problem lies in keeping cosmetic treatments a secret.

“Getting work done and lying about it is unfair to younger girls who look up to you, because then they think, ‘Oh, I don’t look like that; why can’t I?’” she said, pointing to the risk of promoting unrealistic beauty ideals.

She believes honesty can help shift the conversation and remove the shame or judgement often associated with cosmetic enhancements.

“People think that the term ‘plastic’ is the biggest insult you can give someone, but I don’t think it’s bad if someone gets work done and stuff like that,” she said in a previous chat with CurlyTales.

“I don’t think it’s such a big deal. The main issue is that people are scared that they will get hate if they come out and admit it.”

People will judge you anyway

Khushi also touched on the pressure of constantly being in the public eye. No matter what choice you make, she said, there will always be judgement.

“People who question my decisions to undergo cosmetic treatment would have judged me regardless of my decision. There is no real way to win in these kinds of discussions,” she explained.

To her, the only way to find peace is to stand by your decisions and not worry too much about outside opinions.

“One should own up to their decision and worry less about what people will say,” she added.
