TJ Reid was not the only big name inter-county star to play at Hurling For Cancer this year, with the likes of Patrick Horgan, Lee Chin, Grace Walsh, and Ashling Thompson also taking part.
You also had quite a few legends of hurling on the two teams, with one in particular making an impression on the younger generation.
Speaking to Balls, Patrick Horgan said that it did not take long for Kilkenny legend Tommy Walsh to get up to his old tricks after his introduction.

It was enjoyable. The pace is probably a little slower, but there is still a bit of pulling and dragging in there so it’s tough enough…
Looking at the program there beforehand, you’re thinking ‘this is going to be hectic enough’. There’s a lot of goals, a lot of scores, a lot of excitement.
That’s the main thing, everyone is having fun…
You see a couple of fellas there and they want to be winning the ball and be on it. They’re just going that couple of clips faster…
I did play against Tommy Walsh, but he came on there and he flaking, pulling, and dragging, the whole lot. That never changed anyway. You have Ollie Canning doing the same!

Tommy Walsh, Ollie Canning, Brendan Cummins, and Joe Canning were some of the hurling legends who supported the cause on the night.
After another stellar edition, we’re already looking forward to Hurling For Cancer in 2026.
