Patient volume at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital’s Needham location has doubled in the last 10 years, and the hospital campus is putting together plans to add a new building to meet the need.
Hospital officials told the Needham Planning Board that it is in the preliminary steps of creating plans for an additional ambulatory care building downtown, across Chestnut Street from the main facility. The building, according to John Fogarty, president of BID Needham, would operate on the same hospital license as the existing building.
