After Bristol Rovers’ 2-0 win against Colchester United, Steve Evans was asked whether the Gas would sign anyone on Deadline Day. He says, ‘We get one, and you can have him.’ He gave me permission to speak to the boy. I spoke to the boy for an hour and a half on the telephone today. He was really keen to come.
“In fact, he told me he was coming to the game, and he would be around here, but nobody said anything, but it might be a feeling that the window’s closing, and we’re not going to do anything, but I’ll know very shortly when I go upstairs.”
