Two male suspects were arrested after Winnipeg police engaged in a standoff with people they say may have been armed in the Westwood neighbourhood on Thursday, police said.
Police arrived around 9:30 a.m. to deal with possibly armed people in the area, a spokesperson told CBC News on Thursday morning.
A person was seen walking with a firearm on Byrd Avenue and a home in the area was identified, Const. Claude Chancy said.
Multiple police units went to the area, including the tactical support team and the drone unit, he said.
Police pulled at least three people from a house, said a CBC videographer at the scene.

Two male suspects were taken into custody, Chancy said in an update Thursday afternoon. No information about possible charges is available at this point, he said.
A section of Byrd Avenue and Davis Crescent was closed to traffic during the standoff. Chancy said affected roads would soon be reopened.
No injuries were reported and there is no direct threat to public safety at this time, he said.
