Full confirmed list of Rangers ins and outs as 14 join and 19 leave after deadline day

Another summer, another Rangers rebuild.

It was a dream come true for Derek McInnes as he finally landed the Ibrox gig he’s always wanted. But it’s been a hard slog so far, with the new Light Blues boss’ first task to overhaul a squad that limped home third behind Celtic and his old Hearts side last year.

And Gers are lucky the revolving door at Ibrox hasn’t spun clean off its axis given the vast numbers of ins and outs so far. A whopping 14 players have arrived, with another 19 heading for the exit.

It’s been a hectic window for the Rangers recruitment team, with the business going right down to the wire as Kevin Kelsy and Badredine Bouanani arrived late on deadline day. So, what have Rangers been up to this summer? Here, Record Sport runs through the full list of the Ibrox transfer moves following the end of the window.

Ins

McInnes’ first task was to stiffen the spine of a squad that collapsed under the weight of the title pressure last year. His predecessor Danny Rohl had already arranged for Lawrence Shankland to swap Gorgie for Govan before making way for the Scotland striker’s old Tynecastle gaffer.

Following him along the M8 was another old Jambo Cammy Devlin, while ex-Sunderland skipper Dan Neil and young Partizan kid Vanja Dragojevic joined the Aussie ace in the list of new midfield options. The backline was reinforced by the signing of Hull keeper Ivor Pandur plus defenders Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey, Olwethu Makhanya and James Penrice.

Once those positions were addressed, McInnes moved on to adding the creative flair this side badly lacked.

And he’ll hope that forwards Minsu Kim, Daisuke Yokota and Bouanani will soon be suppling Shankland and new recruit Kelsy with the service they need to fire Gers to success in the months ahead.

Outs

The departure of six loanees from last season left Gers with a major void to fill in their squad list.

And the end of captain James Tavernier’s 11-year stint at Ibrox robbed the club of another huge bank of experience. However, it was decided the veteran right-back had to go as the Ibrox hierarchy looked to break apart the leadership group that has failed to deliver success in recent seasons.

For that reason, Jack Butland was also allowed to leave as he swapped places with Pandur at Hull. McInnes will be relieved that he was able to hold onto Nico Raskin despite Besiktas’ late attempts to lure the Belgian World Cup star to Turkey.

But with a huge 30-man-plus first-team squad, Gers have been forced to dispense with some former regulars in order to clear space for the new arrivals. Mohamed Diomande did make a move to Turkey, joining Corum in a switch that saw Gers recoup the cash they paid for him when he joined from Nordsjaelland in 2024, while Connor Barron has switched to Middlesbrough on loan.

Thelo Aasgaard has joined Anderlecht for the season – reuniting with Oliver Antman in Brussels – after agreeing to a move that could yet net Gers a £6million fee if made permanent next summer.

Danilo also has an option to make his loan return back to Brazil with Botafogo permanent. Bailey Rice will be hoping his loan to Kilmarnock will provide the leg-up that fellow academy kid Findlay Curtis enjoyed at Rugby Park last year.
