2 dead, 2 in critical condition after small plane crashes in northwest Fresno, Fresno Fire says

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Two people are dead and two others have been taken to the hospital in critical condition after a small plane crashed in northwest Fresno.

The Fresno Fire Department says the plane crashed Saturday afternoon near the Sierra Sky Park Airport on Blythe Avenue.

It remains unclear how the plane crashed.

Fresno City Councilmember Mike Karbassi released the following statement on Facebook:

Multiple agencies, including the Fresno Police, the Fresno Fire Department, PG&E, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and the North Central Fire Department are on scene.

Power was briefly knocked out for nearby residents during the time of the crash but has since been restored, according to PG&E’s outage map.
