After Nebraska’s Wrigley Field match was officially suspended, both Nebraska and Missouri’s volleyball teams returned to the court, located in the outfield of the Chicago Cubs’ stadium.

All four NU seniors — Harper Murray, Laney Choboy, Andi Jackson and Bergen Reilly — took turns with the microphone thanking Husker fans — who comprised almost all of the 43,067 in attendance.

“We were just getting emotional in the locker room about how much this sucks that we can’t play here for you guys, but we’re so lucky we get to experience something like this and we’re so sorry from the bottom of our hearts, but thank you guys for being the best fans in the country. And Go Big Red — we love you.”

“Nothing that we do would be possible without all of you guys. You guys show up every single game, all the time, no matter where we’re playing, and we could not be more thankful for a fan base that is willing to do anything for us. So Go Big Red and thank you guys so much!”

“We’ve already said it but thank you so much for being here. I know it didn’t go the way we wanted but just this turnout is absolutely incredible. Thank you for supporting us, thank you for supporting Mizzou and thank you for supporting women’s sports. Mizzou, you’re incredible, we’re sorry this did not go as planned. Good luck this season. You guys are awesome. Husker fans, thank you so much you guys are incredible.”

“To reiterate what they said, none of this would be possible without you guys. We want to give you guys our all and we couldn’t do that tonight so we’ll keep doing it the rest of this season for you guys. We love you all. Seriously, we would not be here without you guys. Go Big Red always and get home safe.”
