One person has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass.
LOS ANGELES (KABC) — One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass on Monday.
At least five cars were involved in the fatal collision, which was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. near Getty Center Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. One person, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
Paramedics assessed one additional patient with minor injuries, LAFD said.
Northbound traffic was being impacted during the investigation and cleanup. Drivers were urged to seek alternate routes.
Aerial video from AIR7 showed several ambulances and fire trucks at the scene. Traffic was getting through on a couple of lanes, but there was still a backup until crews were able to clear the debris from the roadway. All northbound lanes reopened by 6:30 p.m.
No further details were immediately known. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
