Troopers were called to the area of Kilman Dr. and Bibb Blvd. for reports of illegal stunt driving. When they arrived, several cars fled, including a white Chrysler 300 that drove over a curb to get away.
GSP says that as troopers chased the Chrysler, a K9 unit crashed into a GMC pickup truck at Mountain Industrial Blvd. and Hugh Howell Rd. They say the pickup truck had also been spotted stunt driving.
Both vehicles caught fire. The trooper and K9 were able to escape through a window and tried to help those in the pickup truck.
