The Kauaʻi Emergency Management Agency has launched online assessment forms to help local officials understand the scope of the impact to the community.
Officials said the gathered data is crucial, as the reports may be used to determine whether the county qualifies for state or federal disaster assistance.
The agency clarified that residents and businesses still need to file separate claims with their insurance companies for residential damage and personal property losses.
